Maternity Sessions

Maternity sessions are such a special way to remember and thank your beautiful body for what it has done and achieved! Pregnancy is an amazing thing, and it should be celebrated.

I offer maternity shoots at home, or on location whatever you prefer! If you have older children that are about to become bring brothers and sisters - bring them along! It's lovely to capture some images of your family before your next baby comes along and your youngest goes from being the baby to the eldest - or a middle child!

On location shoots are best if held during golden hour, as your can see with the image above, it's such a beautiful time of day and is most flattering. Golden hour is the hour before sunset or the hour after sunrise. In home maternity shoots can be held at a time that suits you.

What to wear?

I know when I was pregnant it was tricky to figure out how to dress my new body shape! Did I want to show off my bump in tight fitting clothes or try and hide it with a flowy top? So here are my top tips for your maternity photos!

  1. Think lace, flowy, solid colours, neutrals. You could wear a tighter fitting dress and add a pretty lace kimono. Maxi dresses can look really beautiful, they should be fitted around your bust and then flowy over the bump.

  2. Stay away from black, I find it can hide your baby bump and that’s what we want to show off!

When should I book?

We definitely want to book your shoot when you have a beautiful bump to show off. I think it’s best to show off your bump at 30-34 weeks. I find after 34 weeks you can start to feel pretty tired and uncomfortable so I think 30-34 weeks is the sweet spot!
